A story about Dr. Allen Paul, a father whose son was arrested for killing the next President of the USA. He started searching for the evidence & argued that his son wasn't the one who did that.
The son he knows, was a normal son. Not like other murderers whose stories he read & studied. The son he knows was a son who was not affected that much by the conflict between the divorced parents. The son who was brave enough to fly alone during long holiday season to the father's house.
He was sure that his son wasn't guilty. Until one day the son pleaded guilty. Still, he believed his son was just an accomplice. But at the same time, he started searching for the reasons. What was wrong and where were the mistakes.
One thing I learned from this is that to love & to care about your loved ones is to be there for them. Not only sometimes you're there, most of the time you are not. Even the simplest thing you missed, who knows to where it will lead.
Another thing is that, unlike the son, we shouldn't stay still & keep living in the misery, blaming the life & what people did to us. Those are the things we could not control, what we are able to control is that how we react to what happened to us.
